Labor Law Regulations Overview

Japanese Labor Law Regulation constitutes of the Labor Standards Act, Labor Contracts Act, Labor Dispatch Act. The Labor Standards Act, which is a special regulation under the Civil Law established in 1947, includes the minimum protective standard of individual labor relationship between employer and employee. The Civil Law and Labor Standards Act strictly regulates wages, working hours, rest period, holidays etc. 

The Labor Standards Act, Employment Security Law and those other than the Labor Standards Act also have various labor-related regulations and therefore, it is very important to understand and to operate within the structure of these laws. In Japan, only certified Labor and Social Insurance Attorneys, or ‘Sharoushi’ are capable of thoroughly understanding and implementing Japanese labor laws.
